Training

Welcome to Adventure Pups Training!

Our two trainers, Angie and Tessa, are excited to work with you and your pup.

Training is a great way to strengthen the bond with you and your pup by working with a trainer to brush up on manners, tackle leash reactivity, or to continue on your dog's training journey. When you hire one of our certified dog trainers, we will work with you to create an individualized plan of action and be there every step of the way.
We are certified positive reinforcement trainers who use science-based practices to strengthen the bond between you and your dog. When you hire one of our certified dog trainers, we will work with you to create an individualized plan of action and be there every step of the way.

APC shares the values of the Certification Council of Professional Dog Trainers. Our trainers use science-backed positive reinforcement methods. The work they do to provide and connect trainers with the most up-to-date research is why we choose to seek certification through their organization. Check out Our Trainers for their current training credentials.

When you contact us, we will set up an initial consultation. There, we'll discuss your and your pups’ needs and training goals. If at any time we feel you need help we are unable to provide, we will personally work with you to find a professional better suited to your pup's needs.

Meet Our Trainers

Training Director
Angie DUNN
CPDT-KA Certified Trainer
Angie has been working with dogs since 2011 through a dog rescue and foster organization. They connected her to local dog trainers who allowed her to accompany them to dog assessments. She went through Petco's Dog Trainer Program in 2014; worked and learned from Angi Lenz of Bellingham's doggy day care and dog training facility Tails-a-Wagging 2017; later in 2017 she moved to the Greater Boston area, where she connected with Melissa Mc-Cue McGrath, a local dog trainer who was one of the training directors of the New England Dog Training Club. She joined the club as an intern, where she assisted the trainers of the various levels of available classes from their Puppy Kindergarten, to preparing for the Canine Good Citizen, to Novice Obedience and Rally in order to gain the experience to become a paid trainer for the club. She became a trainer for them in the summer of 2019 which marked the end of her two years of interning.

Trainer
Tessa Harrison
CPDT-KA Certified Trainer
Born and raised in the Greater Boston area, Tessa spent a lot of time as a kid trying to train her 15 year old English Bulldog to run through agility courses. Needless to say, it did not go very well. She's spent the last nine years working with dogs in a myriad of ways: as a dog walker and hiker, and now as a certified trainer.
Passionate about animal welfare, Tessa will work with you to build a common language between you and your pup. Sessions will incorporate learning dog body language, how to understand what your dog is communicating to you about their needs, and how to advocate for those needs. Tessa knows that no dog needs a heavy hand and that all dogs deserve force and fear free training. She is particularly passionate about working with large breeds. She wants to help these pups and their guardians learn that while large dogs are so often put in aversive gear due to their size, they also deserve and thrive with force free methods.
